  • Admissions
    Q1. What are the entry requirements to apply to EAU?

    Undergraduate:

    Undergraduate admission and English proficiency requirements can vary depending on the programme you wish to study. Full details can be found here

    Postgraduate:

    To apply to a Postgraduate programme you need to submit an official university certificate and transcript(s) certified by the appropriate authorities along with an English proficiency test of TOEFL IBT minimum score of 69 or Academic IELTS with a minimum overall score of 6.0.

    Q2. What programmes does EAU offer?

    Q3. How do I apply to EAU?

    You may apply to EAU by completing the online application.

    Step 1: Select the programme of interest and apply online by attaching the required documents. Do not worry if you do not have all your documents when you apply. Depending on what you submit, we may be able to make you a conditional offer.

    Step 2: Receive a firm or conditional offer letter of acceptance by email.

    Step 3: Complete registration and payment of tuition fees.

    Alternatively, you may visit the Admission and Registration Department. We are open Monday to Thursday 7:00am to 3:30pm and 3:00pm on Friday and the Admissions Team will be happy to assist you with the application process. Please do not forget to bring all your documents.

    Q4. Does EAU conduct entrance exams?

    EAU does not normally conduct entrance exams; however, we may do from time to time for some scholarships.

    Q5. May I join EAU if I do not meet the entry requirements? 

    Undergraduate:

    An applicant who does not meet the minimum requirements of a program may still be given consideration, depending on additional evidence provided. Students may also be admitted under probationary admission or offered a Foundation course. If we cannot offer you a place on the programme you applied for, our aim is to offer you an alternative programme.

    Postgraduate:

    Students who do not meet the minimum entry requirement may be given a probationary offer. Probation is given to Postgraduate applicants with a GPA under 3.0 or equivalent. These applicants will have to score 50% and above in their first three modules to progress in the programme of study.

    Q6. Can I join the programme in the middle of the academic year?

    Undergraduate:

    There are two semesters in each EAU Academic Year. The Fall semester starts in September and the Spring semester starts in February. Each semester is normally 15 weeks long. Undergraduate Full Time programmes commence in both September and February.

    Postgraduate:

    EAU Postgraduate programmes commence every two months, subject to a minimum number of students registered. Dates can be found here

    Q7. Can I transfer credits from another University?

    Depending on your programme of study, you may be able to transfer some of your credit hours. For more information, please contact your Admissions Officer.

    Q8. When is the Admissions Office open?

  • Fees and Scholarships
    Q9. Does EAU offer financial aid or scholarships to students?

    EAU offers merit-based scholarships for academically distinguished students. Details are available here

    Q10. Is it possible to get a student loan for my programme?

    Emirates Aviation University does not offer in-house financing however, there are many financial institutions that may assist with student loans.

    Q11. What are the accepted forms of payment?

    We accept cash, card, cash deposit, bank transfer or cheques drawn only in local banks in UAE Dirhams for the payment of tuition fees. Cheques should be made payable to “Emirates Aviation University”. Submission of post-dates cheques (PDCs) at the time of registration is mandatory for instalment payment options.     Q12. When do I have to pay the tuition fees?

    Registration and tuition fees must be paid before the deadline mentioned in the offer letter.

     

  • Facilities and Services
    Q13. Does EAU offer accommodation?

    The EAU accommodation building, offering en-suite rooms and a wide range of facilities, is located inside our University campus, a few steps away from the teaching and administration block. More information can be found here

    Q14. Does EAU provide student residency visas?

    We assist our students with a UAE residence visa under our university sponsorship, provided that all registration formalities are complete and course fees are paid.  For information, please contact eau.visa@emirates.com.

    Q15. Does EAU provide transportation?

    There is a scheduled bus service between EAU and Garhoud, and between EAU and Sahara Centre in Sharjah, and vice versa. Timings of the EAU Bus Service are posted on Moodle.

    Q16. Who can use the EAU Learning Resource Centre?

     EAU students and faculty are welcome to use the LRC as long a valid EAU ID is presented.

    Q17. When is the EAU Learning Resource Centre open?

    We are open Sunday to Thursday from 7:00am to 7:00pm and 10:00am to 2:00pm on Friday and Saturday when Postgraduate classes are running.  Timings are regularly updated on Moodle.

    Q18. Is parking available on campus?

    Yes, free parking is provided on-campus for students. Please register your car and collect the car parking permit from the Security Team at reception.

    Q19. Does EAU provide wheelchair access?

    Yes, the campus is accessible for wheelchairs.

    Q20. How many semesters are there in the academic year?

    Q21. Where can I find my schedule?

    Undergraduate:

    You will be given your timetable after registering for the upcoming semester and all timetables will be uploaded on Moodle.

    Postgraduate:

    Once your registration is complete, your Admissions Officer will send you the schedule by email.

    Q22. Is it possible to complete the postgraduate programme in less than 18 months?

    The EAU postgraduate programme schedule is fixed. EAU offers one module every two months. Hence, 18 months is the minimum time to finish your postgraduate programme.

    Q23. Does EAU offer double majors?

    EAU does not currently offer double major programmes.

    Q24. Is attendance compulsory?

    Undergraduate:

    All our programs require regular attendance and have minimum attendance requirements. Frequent absences will result in automatic failure of the module.

    Postgraduate:

    Attendance is mandatory for the full 5-day block delivery mode.

    Q25. When can I get my student ID card?

    Student ID cards will be provided by the Registration Team during Induction.

    Q26. What do I do if I lose my student ID card?

    If your student ID is lost or misplaced, please visit the Registration Office immediately.  They will advise you on the process required to reprint your ID.

  • Alumni Association and Careers Services
    Q27. What is the EAU Alumni Association?

    The Alumni Association is our graduate’s link to the University after graduation. The association will be your first point of contact whenever you have an inquiry or need assistance. Students who complete their undergraduate or postgraduate studies are eligible to join the association. Registration is free of charge, please visit the EAU Alumni Association office at the campus or register through our EAU website.

    Q28. Does EAU provide students with jobs after graduation?

    EAU does not guarantee to provide students with jobs after graduation but we do offer employment assistance at the Careers Centre.

    Q29. Does EAU provide internships?

    Students who demonstrate extraordinary academic performance will be selected for a six months paid internship with Emirates Group during their third year. We also support students seeking internships with a range of employers.

    Q30. Do you hold career fairs?

    Yes, EAU holds an annual career fair for local and national employers to attend, offering employment opportunities and internships to students in their final year.

    Q31. What help can I get to prepare for internships and interviews?

    We offer regular Pre-Internship workshops to enhance your employability skills. This includes the opportunity to practice your interview skills and help you create a successful CV.

  • Student Accommodation
    Q32. Does Emirates Aviation University have on-campus student accommodations?

    Emirates Aviation University provides students with high quality on-campus accommodation that provides every student with a safe and well-maintained environment in which to reside and study.  The student accommodation at Emirates Aviation University was designed to establish a sense of student community coupled with responsible, independent and shared living. 

    Q33. What type of rooms are there in the student accommodations?

    Our accommodation comprises of single en-suite rooms.

    Q34. Do you provide accommodation for couples or families?

    Our accommodation is built to accommodate students only, couples or families are not allowed to book a room.

    Q35. What is provided in each room?

    Each room has a comfortable single bed with a side table and table lamp, a study desk and chair, a small fridge, wardrobe, luggage rack and a private en-suite shower and bathroom.

    Q36. Am I allowed to bring my own furniture or fixtures for my room?

    The rooms are equipped to a high standard and provide everything you need for a comfortable and safe stay.  For this reason no additional furniture or fixtures are allowed in the rooms.

    Q37. Do you provide bed linen and towels?

    Each student is required to bring their own personal belonging including bed linen, towels, crockery, detergents, personal hygiene items etc. however, one set of linen is provided each new booking.

    Q38. Is there Wi-Fi access in student rooms?

    Wireless Internet connections are provided in all rooms and communal areas.

    Q39. Can I transfer to another room?

    If you wish to change the room you have been allocated, this may be possible based on availability.  Please contact the Accommodation Team for assistance.

    Q40. Will my room be safe and secure?

    The building is monitored by CCTV cameras with 24/7 security guards inside and outside the accommodation building. No one has access to your room unless for emergencies, maintenance and weekly cleaning.

    Q41. Do you provide wheelchair access for people of determination?

    There is ramp access to the accommodation building and lifts to all floors.  We also have a few rooms suitable for wheelchair users.

    Q42. Can I put up my own pictures/decorations in my room?

    Nailing and drilling is not allowed inside the rooms.  If you wish to personalize your room you may do so but only by using non-invasive fixing agents or white tack that can be removed cleanly and damage-free.

    Q43. What type of electric plugs and voltage are used in the accommodation?

    In the United Arab Emirates the standard voltage is 220V

    Q44. Can I leave my belongings in my room during the vacations?

    This may be possible but is subject to the availability of space.  Please contact the Accommodation Team for assistance. 

    Q45. When can I move into my room?

    When you apply to the student accommodation you will be allocated a check-in date.   If you wish to check-in earlier this can be arranged by contacting the Accommodation Team.

    Q46. Can I check in at any time?

    Check-in normally takes place from 7:00 am – 3.30 pm in the Student Accommodation.  You may check-in after working hours and during weekends, however, this must be approved by the Accommodation Team prior to your arrival.  The Emirates Aviation University Security Team will be available to assist with check-in after normal working hours.

    Q47. Do you provide meals in the student accommodation?

    There is a Residents Cafeteria located on the ground floor of the accommodation building providing low cost options for lunch and dinner.  You may also purchase meals and snacks from the University Cafeteria, coffee shop and mini-market on campus.

    Q48. Do you offer self-catering facilities?

    There is a shared pantry on each floor equipped with tables and chairs attached to a small kitchen with fridge, microwave, electric kettle, cupboards and a bin.

    Q49. Is there a supermarket close to the accommodation?

    There is a mini supermarket located on campus.  On arrival, each student will also be provided with a list of local supermarkets as well as delivery options. 

    Q50. Can I bring my car to the EAU campus?

    Residents may use the car parking slots located next to the accommodation building free of charge.  All vehicles must display a current Emirates Aviation University Student Parking Permit.  You can register for and collect your permit from the Security Staff at the main University Reception.

    Q51. Is there a gym on campus?

    There are two separate Gyms for male and female students.  Residents can use the Gym located in the accommodation area free of charges.  The gym timings are currently 6.00 am until 10:00 pm.

    Q52. Do you have a swimming pool?

    The swimming pool is part of the Accommodation Complex, is free of charge for residents and is currently open from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm.  The swimming pool is monitored by a Lifeguard and students must adhere to the safety rules related to the usage of the swimming pool.

    Q53. What other sports facilities are there on campus?

    Students have free access to all the sport and social clubs offered on campus by the Student Services Office.  Our residents also have free access to the tennis, basketball, football and cricket facilities located next to the residences.

    Q54. Do you provide sports equipment?

    Specialist equipment is managed by the sports coaches but our residents can borrow tennis equipment and a basketball from the Reception free of charge.

    Q55. What social activities do you provide?

    There is a Student Activity Room on campus which has billiards, table tennis, table football, air hockey and chess.  There are also TV rooms in the Accommodation for students to organize their own movie nights. 

    Q56. Is there a student representative body for the Accommodation?

    Students are encouraged to form a Residents Group to work with the Accommodation Team to enhance their on campus experience and arrange social activities.

    Q57. Are there laundry facilities on campus?

    There is a shared laundry room on each floor equipped with heavy duty washing machines and dryers.  Each student is provided with two free laundry tokens each week.  Additional tokens can be purchased for a small charge from the Accommodation Team

    Q58. Is detergent provided?

    Students are required to provide their own laundry detergent.

    Q59. Is there a room cleaning service in the student accommodation?

    Yes, general cleaning inside the room will be conducted by our cleaning team every Sunday from 10:00 am onwards.

    Q60. What happens if something in my room breaks?

    All maintenance and repair issues must be reported immediately by email to the Accommodation Team who will inform the maintenance team to action the repair.  A maintenance log book is provided at the Accommodation Reception and residents should also t record maintenance and repair issues here.  Our on-campus maintenance team will ensure all repairs are carried out as quickly as possible.

    Q61. Are visitors allowed in the accommodation?

    Students may entertain guests in the common areas on the ground floor. 

    Q62. Can I have guests stay in my room?

    Guests are not allowed inside the rooms.

    Q63. When do I check out of my room?

    When you apply to the student accommodation you will be allocated a check-in and check-out date by our Accommodation Team.

    Q64. Can I check-out later than my allocated date?

    Subject to availability, we may be able to provide you with a later check-out date.  Please contact the Accommodation Team for assistance. Please note that students who move out of the accommodation and do not follow the correct check-out procedure will be liable for the full cost of their accommodation.
